Reason Takes J. Cole’s Middle Child & Drops A Freestyle With Grown Up Wordplay (Audio)

If you are not familiar with the South Central-born and Carson, California raised rapper Reason, it is a great time to pay attention. Although the TDE artist only started rhyming less than half a decade ago, his 2017 debut album There You Have It caught the attention of TDE and put him on the fast-track to getting integrated to one of Hip-Hop’s leading crews. Once part of the roster, the successful label re-released his album last September, just proving that they were highly impressed by his initial project.

Reason is now working on his first offering under the guidance of Top, Kendrick Lamar, and Jay Rock. However, he took some time out to attend Dreamville’s Revenge Of The Dreamers III recording sessions, which lead to two songs with Wale and a possible joint album with J.I.D. Reason and J.I.D. have been on the Catch Me If You Can Tour together. Carrying on the energy generated by that stint in Atlanta, the West Coast MC decided to throw a freestyle on J. Cole’s current hit “Middle Child.”

Over the sluggish synth and hi-hat heavy drums courtesy of producer T-Minus, TDE’s next up goes in, “Lately I’ve been on wild sh*t / No slowing up, I can’t even down-shift / These ni**as all cap like they holding down shift / Nah, I ain’t a killer but I done been around sh*t / Been ‘It’ but ain’t never on clown sh*t / Facts / Rap like a fat, heavy chick on a plank, b*tch ni**a, I snap / Ni**as ain’t ill, b*tch ni**a, I’m mumps / Ni**as want real, b*tch ni**a I’m that / Ni**as sell soul just to get a little love / I don’t need a kiss, not a hug / I don’t gotta diss for some buzz / I just want a b*tch with a butt that’s bigger than a ni**a ego in the club.”
